Private view 3rd April. Exhibition runs till the 27th April.
MA students of the Bradford School of Art and Media assemble to reflect and comment upon current work in progress. In a world which is increasingly saturated by visual imagery the focus of artistic interpretation is questioned and forms an exciting arena for analysis and learning.
Set within a dynamic, evolving city centre which boasts an exciting creative history in textiles and prominent architecture, Bradford School of Arts and Media has gained nationwide recognition for hosting and training highly significant and internationally recognised artists David Hockney and sculptor Andy Goldsworthy. Today, within this unique environment, Bradford College celebrates over 150 years of successfully providing education and training.
"Education offers its participants engagement with knowledge, ideas and thinking; the art school was the historical template for this, and today is still at its vanguard." Simon Ford [Lecturer MA Visual Arts]
The MA MA exhibition gives a practical and exciting demonstration of the ethos carried within the MA Visual Arts course at the Bradford School of Art and Media. Students are encouraged to develop a high level of professionalism, expertise and scholarship in pursuing their MA interests, where they are constantly inspired to respond not only to the pioneering work of British artists' and cultural innovators but also to seek inspiration from global practice.
South Square Gallery provides the opportunity to present an interesting breadth of work from the students in a range of media, from sculpture, to photography, print and film, culminating in a diverse and exciting realisation of work in progress.
