BRADFORD ANIMATION FESTIVAL + ERASERHEAD @ THE NATIONAL MEDIA MUSEUM

Just when I thought Bradford could not get any better this week (see post below) it does. The National Media Museum has always been one of my favorite ways to waste time in the city. I used to spend hours in TV Heaven watching old documentaries about The Velvet Underground and David Hockney and deleted sitcoms such as the not so PC Curry & Chips starring Spike Milligan. The museum has regular photography and TV related exhibitions as well as 3 world class cinema screens showing IMAX, blockbusters, world and art house movies. This week The museum is holding the 15th annual Bradford Animation Festival. BAF 2008 is packed with special guests, sneak previews, retrospectives, workshops and competition screenings culminating in the BAF Awards on Saturday 15th November. Other highlights include a talk with The Simpsons producer/writer Al Jean and a screening of Yellow Submarine. The festival runs from 12th - 15th November.

Also on at the museum's cinema this week is a screening of David Lynch's cult classic Eraserhead. Awesome! Ill be there on Sunday for the 5.45 showing followed by a bit of Jazz at The City Varieties for my pal KC's birthday.
